We are offering guided tours of the school with Mrs Whiffin our Headteacher on the dates below.  These will take place in small groups to enable you to ask questions about our school. Each tour will take approximately 45 minutes.

The application process is dealt with by the admissions team at West Sussex and Hampshire County Council, you can apply if your child is due to start primary school in September 2026. 

Apply online between 6th October 2025 and 15th January 2026.

Please Apply to the County to which you pay your Council Tax, whether this is West Sussex or Hampshire.

It is very important that forms are submitted by the cut-off date - this year the cut-off date is 15th January 2026.

Southbourne Infant School's capacity is 60 pupils per year group meaning that we have capacity for 180 children across our three year groups.

In-Year Applications

Admission to other Year Groups further up the school may be possible depending on pupil numbers. Please contact the school for an informal discussion. Applications must be made to West Sussex County Council.

Transition to Junior School

During the autumn term of Year 2, you will receive a letter explaining the transition procedures for moving to the Juniors. Please note that these forms need to be completed online and that there is also a deadline for these applications.
