Special Educational Needs (SEN)

As a school we are committed to early identification of children with special educational needs (SEN), through regular contact with our preschool settings and through ongoing assessment.

We use a graduated response (Assess, Plan, Do and Review) to meet children’s needs in line with the 2014 SEND code of practice. This outlines the four areas of SEN that include a range of difficulties and conditions.

  • Communications and interaction.
  • Cognition and learning.
  • Social, emotional and mental health.
  • Sensory and/or physical

Our school Senco is Mrs Linda Sherlock.

All schools are required to publish and review information for parents and carers about the support and provision for children with special educational needs or disabilities, please see our SEND Information Report and policy below.

The West Sussex Parent Carer Forum is a resource for parents to access, helping parent carers of children and young people with additional needs and disabilities to improve and make positive changes to the lives of their families and others. Visit the website http://www.wspcf.org.uk/
